Domino’s Pizza in Brazil is adding the aroma of its product to rental DVDs, reports Business Insider. The US-based chain and agency Artplan have teamed up with 10 local rental stores in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro to turn popular DVDs into representations of pizzas.
The DVD disks are coated with a thermal ink. As soon the disks heat up during play, they produce a smell akin to Domino’s Pizza menu items. When the DVD is removed from the player, a special ink “paints” the disk into a mini pizza bearing the words: ‘Did you enjoy the movie? The next one will be even better with a hot and delicious Domino’s Pizza’.
